SCHOLARSHIP INFO

Welcome to the Scholarship page! Our Chapter has 3 types of scholarships available:

  • Academic
  • Travel
  • TWS Certification

The Academic and Travel scholarships are for wildlife students to help defray college costs or for attending conferences. The program is for both undergraduates and graduate students attending a college in the 23-county area covered by our Chapter.

The academic scholarship application deadlines are December 1 and June 1 of each year; however, conference grants can be applied for any time of year, but preferably at least two months prior to the conference. Please review the application and directions for more information - and good luck!!

The Sacramento-Shasta Chapter gave travel scholarships to several Feather River College students to attend the TWS Western Section Annual Meetings in 2006-2008. We are proud to say we have sponsored more than 20 students over the last few years! The TWS Certification scholarships are for any of our Chapter members who would like to defray the costs of applying for certification as an Associate Wildlife Biologist (AWB) or Certified Wildlife Biologist (CWB) with The Wildlife Society. Interested parties should apply and send the funds to TWS National; once certified, the applicant should provide a copy of the AWB or CWB certificate, a receipt of payment (check), and a brief letter . Up to four of these scholarships will be available each year, and will be disbursed on a first-come, first served basis.
