Ways to Get Involved
About TWS-WS: The Western Section of The Wildlife Society is a non-profit 501(c)3 scientific and educational association dedicated to excellence in wildlife stewardship through science and education. Our mission is to enhance the ability of wildlife professionals and wildlife students to conserve diversity, sustain productivity, and ensure responsible use of wildlife resources and their habitats.
The Western Section of The Wildlife Society is composed of over 1,000 wildlife managers, biologists, ecologists, and students from California, Nevada, Hawaii, and Guam all devoted to the sustainable conservation of wildlife in the western United States region.
We are always looking for active members to help us fulfill our mission. We hope you’ll join us!
Here are some ways to get involved:
- Sign up for our email list and keep up to date on what is going on in the Western Section.
- Become a member and help support our programs
- Join a Western Section Committee. Many of our committees meet monthly over Zoom. For more information, please email tws-west@tws-west.org. We can help you figure out which committees would be of interest to you so you can get on their mailing list and receive information about dates for future meetings.
- Attend a monthly Career Builder Workshop or Student/Early Career Professional Fireside Chat on Zoom – link to more information.
- Attend a Western Section Workshop or the Western Section Annual Meeting (held each year in early February) — link to upcoming workshops and registration information. There are grants to help defray the registration costs for those who need it.
- Join your local chapter and get to know the biologists who live and work near you.
- Reach out to us — We can help connect you to our organization! Email us at tws-west@tws-west.org for more information.
